Ashlyn and her gentle therapy dog, Dylan, thoughtfully create a safe and nurturing space for children to discover the joy of reading. We offer heartfelt one to one sessions shaped around unique needs and reading level of every child. Our group storytelling adventure spark imagination and a sense of wonder, encouraging young readers to lose themselves in the magic of stories. Guided with patience and warmth, Dylan’s calming presence reassures and comforts, helping children feel at ease as they explore new words and worlds. Every book is thoughtfully chosen to excite and inspire, ensuring that learning is not just educational, but also joyful and memorable for each child.
One to One – Read to Dylan
Our one-to-one read to Dylan sessions are all about building a trusting relationship and making reading fun and enjoyable for every child. Each session is tailored to the child’s interests—they can bring their own book, choose from The Story Dog packs, or let Dylan, our Story Dog, pick a favourite. Ashlyn often “speaks through” Dylan to guide the session in a friendly, imaginative way. A simple prompt such as, “Dylan’s a bit confused by this part — can you show him what’s going on?” helps the child feel capable and in control. By ‘teaching’ Dylan, children grow braver in their reading, more willing to try new words, and more connected within the trusting, cosy learning environment we’ve created. Sessions are flexible and designed to help your child grow in confidence at their own pace, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy stories outdoors and truly bring them to life. Designed for primary school age. These sessions can be at schools, home educations, and one to ones at your home environment.
Story and Rhyme time
Our group storytelling and rhyme sessions are created to nurture early reading by building curiosity, confidence, and engagement. Puppets help bring each story to life, and whenever possible, we enjoy taking our tales outside to make the experience even more magical. Children can pick a nursery rhyme from The Story Dog pouch, and Dylan often joins in the fun—particularly during “If you’re happy and you know it, wag your tail.” These sessions are ideal for toddler groups, forest schools, nurseries, and early‑learning settings in primary schools.
