Hello, I’m Ashlyn. I am a learning and development professional and emerging dog behaviourist guided by authenticity, integrity, courage, curiosity, resolve, and loyalty. These values shape my ethical, compassionate approach to supporting both people and dogs.
I combine strong communication, coaching, and facilitation skills to influence and empower others, working collaboratively to create high quality, memorable learning experiences. By blending human learning principles with canine behaviour insight, I design engaging, tailored training that supports different learning styles and strengthens relationships between people and dogs. My goal is always to build confidence, deepen understanding, and promote positive, lasting change.
Meet Dylan – our happy, seven-year-old cockador with a heart as big as his boundless energy. Whether he’s greeting new friends (human or canine) or chasing after a favourite toy, Dylan’s zest for life is utterly infectious. He is naturally drawn to helping others; every day, his emotional intelligence blossoms, and he brings a playful spark to every interaction. Above all, Dylan is a cherished family member before he’s a therapy dog, and his happiness and wellbeing are always our top priority. Our bond has grown stronger through shared adventures and plenty of laughter – we don’t think of it as training, but as supporting one another and embracing the joy in simply being together. Perhaps that’s why our connection is so special: we have guided and learnt from each other over time. Dylan truly shines as a family dog, adored by children and brimming with character. His tail wags with such gusto when he’s happy that he’s affectionately nicknamed ‘Sir Wiggle Bottom’ – just be warned, his enthusiastic tail can pack quite a punch! He fills our home with laughter, affection, and endless fun.
We are a part of the PAWS Therapy Dog Certification Programme, we are still in training and looking forward to passing our assessment.
My learning journey
I have been a learning and development coach for 10 years, working with a charity organisation.
My love for animals has been around since I was a child, incredibly lucky to have always had animals in my life whether looking after them or helping them in a voluntary basis. As part of my dedication to continuous learning and development. I am training to be a dog behaviourist. I have done various volunteering roles within different charities, which I’m incredibly proud of.
Since December 2025 I have been a Parent Governor at my local school. The reason I applied for the position was to understand the education system, support the huge part it plays within the community, and be inclusive for all children. As a dedicated parent with a strong passion for education and child development, I apply my strategic role and provide my knowledge and skills to ensure the schools continued success.
I’m drawn to becoming a dog behaviourist because it allows me to combine a deep love for animals with a meaningful, problem solving role that genuinely improves lives. I’ve always wanted to understand dogs on a deeper level—why they think, feel, and act the way they do—and use that knowledge to help them feel safer, happier, and more confident in the world. For someone who values patience, empathy, and creating positive experiences, dog behaviour work offers a chance to make a real difference every day while spending time with the animals I care about most. Watch this space as I work towards becoming a qualified dog behaviourist.
